M.A. Candidate – Class of 2018

I grew up in China where I studied Finance and Economics.  Presently, I am a banking professional with experience in corporate banking, investment banking, and consulting.  I have helped many Chinese companies with their financing needs and worked with people from different backgrounds.  I have seen how businesses and economics combined with culture and policies underpin society.  Alongside this, I have conducted research into global investment opportunities for an investment fund.  In addition to identifying investment targets, I saw things from the perspective of outsiders and helped global investors understand the economy, business, and culture of China.

Research Interests

I will focus on economic and financial policies in developing countries, especially how those policies can build a more robust market for companies, as well as drive innovation. Through my experiences, I see that China is one of the most significant rising powers in the world and is undergoing remarkable growth, but also encounters obstacles both domestically and internationally.  In the future, I want to transfer to the public sector to shape the global economic and financial policies of China so that both SMEs in China and the rest of the world may benefit.
