M.A. Student – Class of 2021

Though originally from Belgium, I grew up moving between my home country, Sweden, the United States, and China. Having been fully immersed in such diverse cultures, I gained a thorough understanding of the importance of cross cultural and international relations. After graduating high school in Beijing, I interned in Shanghai for a year whilst studying Chinese before completing my undergraduate degree at The New School in New York where I majored in Culture and Media.

Over the past 4 years, I have continued to educate myself on building sustainable relationships between nations and cultures both academically and professionally. A semester abroad at Fudan University allowed me to look at my major through a different lens while my undergraduate thesis focused on the ethics of curation within the American Museum of Natural History. So far, these skills have been put into practice during professional opportunities such as working for the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce as well as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and I aim to continue to pursue and expand upon these interests during the Global Thought program.
