Citizenship: South Africa

Born and raised in the richly diverse province of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, characterized by its various languages, religions, and customs, I have been lucky to foster novel experiences.

Before starting my MA at Columbia, I studied in Exeter, United Kingdom, where I completed my undergraduate degree in International Relations. During my undergraduate journey, I thrived in an environment where I could nurture my aspiration: to promote South Africans’ voices and lives in the Western world. In an era of global crises, political biases, and uncovered truths, the world demands formidable individuals such as Global Thought students who challenge static understandings of global complexities. As such, my research in the Global Thought program will focus on how media ownership steers political biases in post-conflict countries, concentrating on the electoral periods in developing countries and their enduring implications.
