Citizenship: United States

I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, a complex yet beautiful and diverse city I am so proud to call home. In Spring 2024, I graduated from New York University with a double major in Politics and Journalism. During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Prague, Czech Republic, where my academic interests in the far-right, populism, and international institutions (such as the UN and International Criminal Court) were piqued. While in Prague, I was struck by the similarities between American and Czech politics despite their incredibly different histories and populations. My research interests center around the rise of nationalism, identity-based discrimination, and its conjoined impacts on the human rights of immigrants, ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ people, the poor, and other vulnerable communities. I want to use my Global Thought degree to be influential in helping eliminate the injustice that results from the politics of hate before continuing my work toward protecting human rights in law school.
