M.A. Candidate – Class of 2019

I’m from Manchester in the UK, and have been very fortunate to see a lot of the world already, having lived in New Zealand for a year as a child, travelled across much of Europe and South-East Asia, and worked in South Africa. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford, studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at Lady Margaret Hall. I believe that opening oneself up to new perspectives and new cultures is hugely beneficial, and I am very excited about the opportunities at Columbia.

Research Interests

I am interested in studying human rights. Globalisation is having a transformative impact on the world around us and our way of life. While this brings undeniable material benefits, it also brings new challenges. Climate change, migration, and scarcity of resources are all affected by these socio-economic changes. I want to explore the impact that this transformative force has had/is having on human rights provision globally, and see how we can work to protect the rights of the most vulnerable in this new and changing world.
