M.A. Candidate – Class of 2020
I was born and raised in Singapore before pursuing my undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations at the London School of Economics. At LSE, I enjoyed the challenging intellectual environment as well as making friendships with classmates of various backgrounds and interests. Outside of university, I also enjoyed joining various interest groups and immersing myself in the diverse cultures and landscapes in Europe. I am excited to embark on my new adventure in Columbia University and New York City. After finishing my postgraduate studies, I will return to Singapore to complete my military service and begin my civil service career as a Foreign Service Officer.
My preliminary research interests focus on the security and strategic issues in the Central Asian and Southeast Asian regions, particularly regarding the causes and effects of interstate and intrastate conflicts, and their solutions. I am particularly interested in examining the dynamics of conflict and cooperation using different economic, political, and cultural lenses on both the domestic and regional level.
