Unstable Ground

CGT Member Rosalind Morris published her new book, Unstable Ground: The Lives, Deaths, and Afterlives of Gold in South Africa.

Based on twenty-five years of field research conducted in South Africa’s gold mines, Morris discusses the worlds that gold made possible—and gold’s profound costs for those who have lived in its shadow and dreamt of its transformative power.

Professor Morris recently published an op-ed on these issues in The Conversation. Order the book here.
