In “Globalizing Latin American Studies: New Frontiers in Latin American-Middle Eastern Exchange” (Latin American Research Review), Global Thought Fellow Kevin Funk analyzes the most recent scholarship focusing on the multifaceted nature of interregional relations, both historically and contemporarily, as well as the indelible political, economic, and social imprints left on Latin America by migratory flows. Drawing from recent works in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, this essay highlights the importance of seeing both regions as sites of global encounters.
