Citizenship: India

Filter coffee, mangoes, and monsoon showers remind me of home: I was born and raised in Bengaluru, India. I’ve enjoyed exploring New York City, Berlin, and Abu Dhabi at New York University, where I pursued a B.A. in Global Liberal Studies with a concentration in Politics, Rights and Development, minoring in Psychology and German. During my time at Columbia, I aim to build on my undergraduate research, studying how the global and local intersect in transnational organizations and networks. I want to gain insight into how organizational structures can be designed to recognize and welcome the dynamic, intersectional identities of twenty-first century global citizens. I would like to use the Global Thought program’s foundations as a stepping stone towards an academic research career with insights from social psychology and sociocultural anthropology and to facilitate and design institutional diversity, equity and inclusion (EDI) systems based on the realities and disparities of a postcolonial, globalized world.
