Citizenship: Norway and Poland

Born and raised in Norway by Polish parents, I recently completed my B.A. in History, Politics, and Economics at University College London. Prior to this, I spent two years at United World College in New Mexico. Throughout these diverse academic experiences I have been drawn to a gendered lens, be it in my studies or beyond, for instance with Our Streets Now, a campaign seeking to combat public sexual harassment in the UK. This work has enabled me to explore the relationship between the gendered body and the city — more specifically the ways in which infrastructure facilitates gender-based violence. During my time at Columbia, I hope to continue pursuing a gendered lens in my studies, focusing on the ways in which the built environment interacts with gender and investigating experiences of gender and sexuality in major cities around the world. I believe the Global Thought Program will inform and guide me towards a career in intersectional feminist research and advocacy.
