Citizenship: United Kingdom

I was raised in the UK, but as an adult I have enjoyed making temporary homes across the world — from China to Switzerland, and most recently Niger. I work in the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and I am taking a sabbatical to complete the Master’s in Global Thought. Having studied History at the University of Cambridge several years ago, I am looking forward to returning to academia and exploring totally different disciplines at Columbia. My general interests lie in the cultural roots and repercussions of major international crises, particularly looking at the role of race and identity.
