Citizenship: Singapore

I was born and raised in Singapore, but enjoyed the privilege of pursuing my undergraduate studies in the United Kingdom where I majored in History at the London School of Economics. I focused my undergraduate research on the development of Catholic anti-Communism in 1950-60s Singapore — a topic that may appear esoteric, but is in fact rooted at the intersection of many global developments including decolonization within the British empire and détente during the Cold War. I hope to use my time at Columbia to explore how an interdisciplinary approach to the study of history might shed new light on these research interests.
