Citizenship: United States and Jordan

The sound of the athan, the aroma of jasmine, and sight of stunning sunsets all remind me of where I mostly call home, Ramallah, Palestine. I am originally from Gimzo, Palestine. Due to the displacement of the Palestinian people, my family was compelled to reside in Jordan, explaining my Jordanian citizenship, then later moved to the States. New York is another place I call home. Growing up in a diverse environment has enhanced my interest in other cultures and global affairs. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy at Mercy College. I later had the opportunity to intern at the United Nations. During my time at Columbia I hope to focus on wars in the Middle East and their generational psychological effects.
