Citizenship: United States

You’ll never see me without a pair of sunglasses—I was born and raised in sunny California. I completed my BA in Global Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition to my interest in global affairs, I also pursued a double minor in French and History. Growing up speaking both Mandarin and Cantonese in my household has influenced the way I process information. I’ve always felt a connection to big cities: different cultures coexisting, not unlike the different dialects overlapping in my brain. Early exposure to other languages from a young age has helped me develop a curiosity (rather than discomfort) of the unknown. I look forward to satisfying that curiosity at Columbia and integrating that knowledge to further study urban spaces and their global impact.
