Citizenship: United States

The focus of my adult life so far, in and outside of academia, has been finding places and communities to call home. In the various places across North America where I’ve lived, I’ve found solace in major cities and tiny townships alike, all the while broadening my perspective of these experiences with travel in Europe, South America, and Asia. Before moving to New York, my journey brought me to Montreal, Canada, where I completed my undergraduate degree in Political Science and English Literature and lived for six years. There, I explored concepts of identity, community, and connection in both personal and intellectual ways. I am excited to continue this exploration in the most robust community in the world, New York City. Appropriately, my research in the Global Thought program will focus on the potential for social media spaces to serve as environments for community building.
