Citizenship: Turkey and Austria

Living in Istanbul for almost 16 years has shaped me as a young adult today. My move from that bustling and chaotic yet beautiful city to Vienna—a quiet, well-regulated city with a very different but equally rich culture—has awarded me the ability to easily adapt to complex environments. A move to London allowed me to pursue a degree in Fine Arts at the Chelsea College of Arts and Design. My artistic practice ranged from geopolitical, gender-based, and psychological pieces. My work has led me to pursue a Master’s in Global Thought, as I wanted to explore the issues I have addressed through my art in an academic context. I aim to further investigate deeper concepts within cultural and gender politics, for instance the urgent necessity of ethnic minority and female representation in political spaces. I aspire to work at an intergovernmental organization such as the United Nations focusing on peace-building and reconciliation.
