Citizenship: Singapore
Despite my love for traveling to experience different cultures, Singapore is still a place I call home, where I was born and raised. Having studied in the United Kingdom, where I pursued an Economics BSc (Econ) at University College London, I am excited to embark on my next academic journey at Columbia. I look forward to delving into security studies, international relations, and policymaking during my time at the MA in Global Thought. My interest lies in understanding maritime contestation, and I hope to contribute valuable insights into the issue of maritime security threats. Having served as a Naval Diver and later commissioned as a Naval Officer in the Singapore Armed Forces, I aspire to assume command and staff appointments, playing a crucial operational and strategic role in Singapore’s defense.
