Citizenship: Pakistan

I grew up in Lahore, Pakistan. My undergraduate degree was in Economics with a minor in Anthropology and Sociology from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). An interdisciplinary approach in my undergraduate study has prompted me to realize the importance of studying cultural shifts and its social repercussions. This combined with studying economic models has helped me acquire a deeper understanding of the complexities that come with policymaking. I have researched how inadequate policymaking has created a digital divide in Pakistan and how this affects incomes. As a Global Thought student, I aim to learn more about institutionalized discrimination at the hands of the state in the South Asian region. I come from a developing country where development in turn gives rise to social inequality. My goal is to position myself so I will be able to devise and access solutions to this issue.
